Village Grind this Time

Today I started at my house and went out to the Village Grind in Oswego. Coming from the Fox River Trail into Oswego, this is just up the hill over the train tracks on a red brick path.  I had coffee with half and half and a cherry pie square (not triangle).  Both were very good.  I started reading a biography called "I am in Here"  about an autistic girl who is mute but is able to have a voice through poetry.  Her mom authors the book and laces her daughter's poetry and thoughts throughout the book.

I also stopped at a very reasonably priced consignment shop across the street.  Second Born as it is called, is filled with a great selection of maternity and children's clothes, as well as kids toys.  I especially loved their great Halloween costumes!  Don't worry if anyone reads this, I don't have any secrets to share, I actually didn't realize it was only Maternity and kids until I walked in. Although if any mothers to be are looking for clothes or any current mothers are looking to get rid of clothes your kids have outgrown definitely take a look.

It started raining a little on the way back.  I made it home in pretty good time.  Continuing to clean my room, I try to pick up a small section every time I enter. I actually have space on my desk to sit here and type.

I met Zayra at her house and we took the Fox River Trail out to Geneva.  On the way back we stopped at the Batavia Creamery which has awesome homemade icecream.  Their "I have a Bean" coffee is pretty great as well but they don't always brew it over the summer.  I think a hot drink and a cold treat is a great combination anytime of year but evidently coffee does not sell as well this time of year.  I also discovered never take lemonade with you as your beverage of choice for hydration.  Tasty, but not providing well in much needed electrolytes.  I was getting dizzy.  Luckily Zayra let me have some water; I dumped out my yellow beverage and refilled at the Creamery. Trips with Scottie

I have put about 150 miles on my bike so far... these are a few of the places I have gone...

July 18, 2012
Rachel, Matt, and I biked up to downtown Geneva and turned around.  We had tuna noodle salad that I had packed at the park near the Japanese Gardens.  Then we went swimming at the quarry.  It was fun jumping off the high dive and the diving board.  Zayra and her family showed up later. (22miles)

July 28, 2012
Rachel, her mom and I took the Prarie Path out to Wheaton.  I think this path seemed harder because it was not paved.  It was very hot and humid, but it made the awesome yogurt even more refreshing.  I had pink grapefruit yogurt with lots of fresh fruit.  If anyone ever wants to go to this place it is an awesome destination. I went solo out to Geneva to Graham's Coffee Shop.  It is so cute and has awesome art work by an independent artist.  I was able to catch up on Knowledge of the Holy since I walked in late last week.  I have also been reading from a book called Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus.  They have great coffee and gelato.  I also went to an Irish gift shop.  I didn't buy anything but I am getting excited for our pending trip. I went out to Planet Fitness in Montgomery where I have a membership.  It is only $10 a month for membership and they have alot of nice equipment and television which is nice for watching the olympics.  I updated my membership since I had transferred it from Naperville.  It is a nice ride through Aurora and down Douglas.
